Amalfi Life is a tourism company defined by a passion to provide unparalleled access to the authentic local life. It was founded in 1999 by Laurie Howell, a travel expert in the US, and Giocondo Cavaliere, a cultural expert and native of the Amalfi Coast. Amalfi Life is distinguished by its uncommon expertise and the high level of personalized service available to each visitor.
Who We Are
Laurie Howell, co-founder of Amalfi Life, is the director of our New York City office. Counting over thirty visits living and working in the region, Laurie is undoubtedly one of the most knowledgeable people on her side of the Atlantic about the Amalfi Coast. She is a seasoned professional in travel and tourism with twenty years of wide-ranging experience as a tour planner, tour leader, and customer care specialist.
Giocondo Cavaliere, co-founder of Amalfi Life, is based on the Amalfi Coast, where his family has lived for many generations. He is the on-site director of Amalfi Life and your expert on all things "Amalfi". Giocondo is also the director of Slow Food Costa d'Amalfi. Giocondo's special knowledge and infectious love for his native region are second to none.
Prior to Amalfi Life Giocondo was the marketing director of the five-star Hotel Santa Caterina in Amalfi, capping a 25-year career in luxury hospitality.
